Change employee province of employment

Changing an employee's employment province generates multiple tax forms at end of year. I.e. one for each province in which earnings were received.

Powerpay will prompt you if the employee has any active garnishment when the province of employment is changed. It is recommended that you contact the garnishor (government agency) to determine if a new garnishment order is required.

Tasks

Contact your Customer Support Team for additional information and assistance as each scenario is unique. The province recorded for an employee impacts provincial deductions and remittances in addition to tax forms produced at the end of the year. Be prepared with the date and pay period the employee was first assigned to the wrong province.

  1. Click the Pay Period menu and click the Enter button for the pay period you want to work with.

  2. Go to the Employee Profile page.Closed From the Payroll menu, select Hire/Profile > Employee Profile.

  3. Select the employee from the Employee List.

  4. Select the correct province of employment.
  5. Click Save.
