Make a temporary change to a deduction or contribution cycle

When the deductions and contributions you want to activate do not match a cycle setup for a pay period or extra pay, you can use the This Pay Only feature to create and activate a custom set of deductions and contributions.

Prerequisite

The Deductions & Contributions Cycle Setup page.Closed From the Company menu, select Cycles > Deductions & Contributions Cycle Setup. has the This Pay Only column selected to display on the Deductions & Contributions Cycle page.

Tasks

  1. Navigate to the Deductions & Contributions Cycle page.Closed From the Company menu, select Cycles > Deductions & Contributions Cycle.

  2. In the This Pay Only column, select the checkbox across from the deductions or contributions to activate for this pay.

    Note: It is important to review the This Pay Only column (on the Deduction & Contributions Cycle page) prior to selecting the cycle on the Edit Pay Period page to ensure all required deductions or contributions have been updated correctly for this cycle.

  3. Click Save.
  4. Open the Select Pay page.Closed Click the Pay Period menu.
  5. Click the Pay Period Number for this payroll. The Edit Pay Period page opens for the selected pay period.
  6. From the list on the Deductions & Contributions Cycle box, select This Pay Only.

  7. Click Save.
