Processing the first pay of the new year

Although the practice is uncommon, prior to December 16, 2021, you may wish to process your first pay of 2022. Until the CRA/RQ tax tables for the new year are in place, Powerpay displays a message that prevents you from submitting your first pay of 2022. This ensures that the correct tax tables are in place for processing your payroll run and prevents errors caused by using the previous year’s tax tables.

Should you receive this error message while attempting to submit your payroll run, contact your Service Delivery Team for more information on the date the new tax tables will be available.
