Enter living in prescribed zone amounts

Tip: You must open a pay period to use this feature / functionality. Click the Pay Period menu and click the Enter button for the pay period you want to work with. The Payroll and Process menus become available.

To qualify for northern residents deductions, an employee must have lived, on a permanent basis, in a prescribed northern or intermediate zone for a continuous period of at least six consecutive months.

Tasks

Enter the value for living in a prescribed zone from the completed TD1 form

  1. Click the Pay Period menu and click the Enter button for the pay period you want to work with.
  2. Open the Statutory Deductions page.Closed From the Payroll menu, select Regular Payment > Statutory Deductions.
  3. Select the employee from the Employee List.
  4. In the Tax Options - Additional Permanent Values section, enter a value in both the Amount entered will reduce Federal taxable income (CRA letter) and Amount entered will reduce Provincial taxable income boxes.

  5. Click Save.

Note: The values are cleared when the first payroll run of the new year is opened. If new values are required, they must be re-entered.
