Family support and maintenance orders

Family courts issue Support and Maintenance Orders to ensure that employees pay child and spousal support. This includes arrears orders.

Employers must enforce and remit payments for orders from other provinces and other countries.

Support and Maintenance Orders are usually a fixed monthly amount deducted on a continuing basis. They may have an additional deduction for payments in arrears.
