Export to Dayforce

Use the Dayforce page.Closed From the Company menu, select Export > Dayforce. to export employee and payroll setup information an XML files that can be used as inputs to Dayforce.

Prerequisites

Export is available to companies who have Dayforce as an import provider.

Tasks

  1. Navigate to the Dayforce page.Closed From the Company menu, select Export > Dayforce.

  2. Select the check box next to each type of information you want to include in the XML file. If you have never exported information before, the Include Payroll Setup option is selected by default and cannot be cleared.

  3. Click Generate.

    Powerpay generates two XML files and they appear in the File Export section under Preview Generated Files.  

    • DailyHRImport20230815110902_PP2XXXX.xml

    • DailySLImport20230815110902_PP2XXXX.xml

    The SL import file contains system-level settings for information like pay type and emergency contact relationship types.

    The HR Import file contains employee information (with optional emergency contact or deposit information, or both) for each employee.

  4. File Export: Enter or confirm the Dayforce Client Identifier. Powerpay retains this information after you enter it the first time.
  5. Select the Dayforce Environment.

  6. Click Submit.

    Powerpay exports the XML files, and they appear in the Information Exported section.

Results

Exported XML files that contain employee general information with optional emergency contacts and deposit information, and payroll setup information (mandatory on initial export and optional on subsequent exports).

Field information

  • Include Emergency Contacts - Include each employee's emergency contact information in the exported report.

  • Include Deposit Information - Include each employee's direct deposit banking information in the exported report.

  • Include Payroll Setup - Exports basic payroll information. Mandatory for first file export. Optional for subsequent exports.

  • File Name - The name of the export file.

  • Sent Date - The date that the export file was created.

  • Emergency Contacts - States whether the exported HRImport file contains emergency contact information. This is not shown for SLImport files.

  • Deposit Information - States whether the exported HRImport file contains deposit information. This is not shown for SLImport files.
