Powerpay Payroll Engine

As part of Dayforce's commitment to payroll excellence, an upgrade to our payroll engine will be made for 2024 payroll processing to improve the efficiency of our services. The upgrade is expected to be seamless and have no effect on your payroll operations. There should be no required downtime for the upgrade and no latency to the Powerpay application.

What does it mean for employers?

Payroll calculations and processing with continue to be based on current set-up; no configuration changes are required of employers.

How does this affect Powerpay?

The upgrade will be effective with your second payroll processing for 2024.

Could there be discrepancies with this upgrade?

There are a number of equally acceptable tax calculation methods approved by CRA and RQ for calculating source deductions. Because different calculations can be used to estimate an employee's liabilities, there can be reasonable variations in the results.  From a practical perspective, as part of this transition, discrepancies between $0.01 and $0.05 were not investigated for resolution.
