Determine if you need to use cycles

For some companies, deduction and contribution cycles may not needed. Typically, they are not required in the following scenarios:

• There are no deductions and contributions for your payroll.
• You take the same deductions and contributions on each payroll. In this case, you can activate all your deductions and contributions on Cycle 1, and always select Cycle 1 when you set up a new pay period.
• You prefer to manually set up deductions and contributions each pay. In this case, you can always select This Pay Only when you set up the new pay period, and (on this page) activate the deductions and contributions using the This Pay Only cycle every time you run a payroll.
