ROE not produced - Troubleshooting
There are several reasons why a Record of Employment (ROE) may not produce when requested. To ensure accurate ROEs are filed, strict regulations are enforced by Service Canada.
To confirm an ROE will produce accurately after changes to the
are saved, it is important to request a Payroll Preview prior to submission to review the ROE forms. Any errors preventing production of your request will be identified.If your ROE will not produce when you perform a Payroll Preview:
- Review and correct the error message. See ROE error messages -Troubleshooting.
- Request a Payroll Preview to confirm an ROE produced by checking ROE Forms.
If your ROE did not produce after you submitted your payroll:
- Go to the
- Review the Executive Summary in the Standard Reports Package to determine the cause.
- Initiate an Extra Run or an ROE Run to produce an Amended ROE.
- Request a Payroll Preview to confirm an ROE produced by checking ROE Forms.

A Record of Employment (ROE) cannot be generated for an employee with no insurable earnings. If requested, a message displays on your processed Payroll Register confirming the form was requested but not produced.

An ROE will not generate for an employee who is exempt from EI deductions based on CRA rules (E.g. owners of the business). No error message displays with Payroll Preview.

Dayforce does not produce ROEs based on QPIP premium paid. If a Quebec employee requires an ROE for parental leave, the employer can create one on the RQAP website. Please visit: http://www.rqap.gouv.qc.ca/.

A missing or invalid SIN will prevent an ROE from generating.
