Why did CPP deductions stop?

CPP contributions will stop when an employee has paid the annual maximum amount or they reach age 70.

Note: CPP status must be changed in the month after the employee's 70th birthday.

Note: Effective January 1, 2023, the CPP maximum is prorated for employees turning 70 during the year based on their birthdate. In the pay period the CPP status is changed, Powerpay calculates the prorated annual maximum and refunds any overpayment.
