Update Quebec worldwide wages

Worldwide Wages are the grand total of wages paid to all employees worldwide that are associated with this business as defined by Revenu Québec. This includes vacation pay, tips, and taxable benefits. Worldwide wages include all payrolls paid by the employer via Dayforce or any other input methods.

Each year, customers with employees in Quebec must enter the Worldwide Wage amount for the previous year to all payrolls they process to ensure the correct QHSF (Quebec Health Service Fund) rate is applied.

Note: If this is not entered, a value of zero is automatically recorded when the Pay Period 1 payroll is submitted and the QHSF will calculate at the highest rate until an update is provided.

If a change to the Worldwide Wages is required after Pay Period 1 has processed, contact your Customer Support Team.

Prerequisites

This page only displays for payrolls where Quebec Medical is ‘Applicable’ and the Quebec Medical category is not ‘Exempt’.

Tasks

Enter Worldwide Wages

  1. Go to the First Pay of Year page.Closed From the Company menu, select Defaults > First Pay of Year.

  2. Enter the Previous Year's Total Worldwide Wages (including taxable benefits).

    If you have multiple payrolls processing with Dayforce, enter the grand total of your worldwide wage amount into all associated accounts.

    The value entered must be in Dollars only (no cents). If a decimal value is entered, an error message displays.

  3. Click Save.

Note: If this is not entered, a value of zero is automatically recorded when the Pay Period 1 payroll is submitted and the QHSF will calculate at the highest rate until an update is provided.

Results

The value entered is held until the company’s first pay of the new year is submitted. When the first pay of the year is submitted, the Previous Year’s Worldwide Wages (including taxable benefits) value displays on the Submit Payroll page.Closed From the Process menu, select Submit Payroll. This value may be overridden on the first pay of the year.

After the first pay of the year is run, the Previous Year’s Total Worldwide Wages (including taxable benefits) value on this page defaults to ‘0’.

Powerpay prompts you to enter your Worldwide Wage amount when you open Pay Period 1.
