Delete an active garnishment

Warning: Employers can be held liable for failing to make deductions in response to a garnishment order. Ensure you have written confirmation from the issuer that the garnishment is complete before removing a garnishment.

Note: Deleted garnishments cannot be reactivated. If you delete a garnishment in error, you must create a new garnishment.

Delete an active garnishment

  1. Click the Pay Period menu and click the Enter button for the pay period you want to work with.
  2. Open the Garnishments page.Closed From the Payroll menu, select Garnishments.
  3. Locate the garnishment you want to delete in the Active Garnishment List for an employee, and then click Delete.
  4. Read the warnings that Powerpay displays.
  5. If you are sure the garnishment can be deleted, select Yes, and then click Save. The garnishment appears in the Deleted Garnishment List.
