Powerpay in Action: Streamlining Workflows, Strengthening Compliance, and Elevating Client Value

When Georgia began supporting payroll and HR for businesses across Canada, she brought nearly three decades of experience and a high standard for accuracy and compliance. She worked with clients ranging from small teams to organizations with more than 150 employees, each with unique requirements. To manage them effectively, she needed a platform that saved time, reduced manual steps and supported her across every province. After trying multiple systems throughout her career, she chose Powerpay and has continued to rely on it for almost 20 years.

Before Powerpay introduced integrated tools like Time and Attendance, many of her processes were manual. She tracked vacation balances in spreadsheets, exchanged timesheets by email and spent time reconciling errors. These tasks were unavoidable but slowed her down and reduced the time she could dedicate to higher value HR advisory work. Powerpay changed that. She originally started using Powerpay because it was easier to use and competitively priced, but she continued because the experience was consistently strong. “The customer service has always been extremely responsive and knowledgeable,” she says.

Supporting clients across Canada means handling frequent changes in legislation, including Quebec. She relies on Powerpay’s updates and notifications to help her clients stay compliant. Switching between multiple clients in seconds keeps every pay cycle organized and predictable, something that is essential for her work. When she introduced Time and Attendance, the improvements were immediate. Employees could clock in and out through the system, managers approved hours online and time flowed directly into payroll. For larger or hourly teams, it eliminated manual tracking entirely.

The time savings were significant. What once took 9 to 10 hours per month per client now takes about 5. Cutting her processing time by 50 percent allowed her to take on more advisory work, including HR audits, policy updates and periodic onsite support. Powerpay has also helped her maintain a spotless compliance record. In the rare case a CRA notice appears, raising it with the Powerpay team meant resolving it quickly. “I have never had a client issue. And if a CRA letter comes in, Powerpay is there to help handle it.”

After working with many payroll platforms over the years, she continues to recommend Powerpay to other bookkeepers and accountants. “It is really easy to use, the service is excellent and the pricing is very competitive.” What stands out most is Powerpay’s willingness to listen and improve based on user feedback. “Other providers do not ask for feedback. Powerpay listens. The Advisory Board is amazing. We have helped shape real improvements.”

For Georgia, the result is simple. Powerpay saves her time, helps her clients stay compliant and lets her deliver more value to every client she supports.
