Employees assigned to wrong EI rate / business number

Employees assigned to the wrong EI rate (i.e. Full-time vs. Part-time) require a change to the employee set-up as well as a year-to-date adjustment to move the respective year-to-dates to the correct taxation number for tax form reporting.

Note: You must advise CRA and/or Revenu Quebec to transfer funds between taxation numbers so that tax forms produced balance to remittances made.

Tasks

Correct an employee's earnings reported to an incorrect EI rate / business number

For corrections before the final pay of the year is processed

Email the following information to Dayforce
1. Payroll Number
2. Employee Name
3. Employee Number
4. Incorrect business number
5. Correct business number
6. Effective date of change, if not January 1^st

Access the Year-end Adjustment Spreadsheet.
Complete the tab named Multiple Business Number Adj.
Detailed instructions are provided in the spreadsheet.
Email the completed spreadsheet to [email protected].

Note: You are also responsible to request the transfer of remittances between tax numbers with CRA, remit any monies due or request a refund.
