Request a WCB report

A customized WCB report can be created for your company to ease your reporting requirements. Service fees apply.

Tip: If your payroll includes employee level WCB premium calculations, these premiums can be included with your custom WCB report to assist in reconciling before you make your remittance.

Tasks

  1. Choose a report that meets your company’s reporting requirements.

    This option is suitable if:

    • All employees work in the same province.

    • The WCB rate used to calculated WCB premiums is the same for all employees. The rate is not on the payroll at the employee level.

    Report features:

    • This report takes the year-to-date WCB EARN line on the Payroll Register Summary and provides a breakdown by employee.

    • It includes current and YTD assessable earnings.

    • It does not include WCB rates or calculated premiums.

    • Available in Excel or PDF format.

    Tip: If you do not require an employee breakdown, see Calculate WCB premiums for a cost effective reporting alternative.

    This option is suitable if you have:

    • employees working in different provinces but don’t change provinces. For example, your business has some employees who work in Ontario and some employees who work in Manitoba.

    • there is more than one WCB rate on file.

    • premiums calculated at the employee level with a WCB contribution code set up in Powerpay.

    • employees working in a province other than where the company is located.

      Note: This report is not suitable if you have any employees who work in more than one province during the year. E.g. Employee(s) work in Manitoba for 3 months then work in Ontario for the remainder of the year. If this applies to you, you must select Option 3.

    Report features:

    • includes the employee WCB rate

    • current or monthly assessable earnings (based on the frequency of the report)

    • current or monthly WCB premiums calculated (based on the frequency of the report)

    • YTD assessable earnings

    • YTD WCB premiums calculated

    • Employee province of employment

    • Available in Excel or PDF format.

    • This layout provides an 'estimated' premium calculated at the employee level.

    • Calculations do not automatically occur for reversals, manuals, or second payments. You are required to enter WCB premium override amounts for these payment types. If missed, it's for this reason that the total WCB premium figure should only be used to estimate the expense and not used solely to determine your remittance due.

    This option is suitable if you have:

    • employees working in multiple provinces.

    Report features:

    • YTD earnings for assessment (earnings included in the calculation to determine YTD assessable earnings)

    • YTD assessable earnings (the value used to determine the employee’s WCB assessable earnings up to the annual maximum limit)

    • Province of earnings

    • Earnings that exceed the maximum assessable amount

    • Plan code and Rate only display for Quebec and Nova Scotia employees.

    • Values displayed are as of the report generated date. It cannot provide monthly totals.

    • Available in PDF format only

  2. Complete the Request a WCB Report form.

  3. Your Customer Support Team will notify you by email when the request is completed.

  4. For future requests, complete the Request a WCB Report form and provide the run numbers to be included in the report.

    1. Go to the Select Pay page.Closed Select the Pay Period menu button.

    2. Review the pay period ending dates to determine which run number(s) to include.

      Tip: Select the period end date that comes closest to your WCB Reporting requirements.

    Tip: Keep track of the last run number included in your previous report so it's not repeated with your next request.
