Edit or view active garnishment information
Garnishment Deductions that are to be taken on this pay (for a Regular Run) are marked in bold on the
Garnishment Deductions are not taken on an Extra run for a Regular Payment and are, therefore, not bolded.If an employee has no active garnishments, Powerpay does not display the Garnishment Deductions section on the Deductions & Contributions page.
To enter a one-time override of a garnishment, go to Enter a one-time garnishment amount
Tasks

Click the Pay Period menu and click the Enter button for the pay period you want to work with.

- Select the employee from the list.

In the Active Garnishment List, click the Edit button.
Note:-
The selection in the Target Information field cannot be changed. If a different selection is required, this garnishee must be deleted and a new garnishment must be set up in the

If your processed payroll is cancelled, review the latest Payroll Register to confirm the correct remaining target amount displays. The amount may be incorrect as Powerpay does not recognize a cancelled deduction.

- Edit any information and selections as required.
- Click Save.

Go to the Active Garnishment List.

Garnishment Type - The type of garnishment (support, federal or provincial).

Payable To - The name of the individual, institution or government agency to which the garnishment is payable (the claimant).

Order Number - The order number appearing on the garnishment order.

Calculation Method - The method used to calculate the garnishment amount. This can be any of the following:
- a straight dollar amount
- a percentage of gross earnings less statutory deductions
- a percentage of gross earnings less statutory deductions and union
- a percentage of gross earnings up to the Provincial Subsistence Maximum
- the Garnishment Value becomes the employee’s Net Pay
- the Employee’s Net Pay becomes the Garnishment Value

Value Per Pay - The dollar amount or percent deducted per pay. A $ sign appears in front of the amount if the value represents a dollar amount. A % sign appears after the amount if the value represents a percentage.
