People features
Use Powerpay People to quickly and accurately add new employees using the New Hire Wizard and easily access employee information.

People list
The People list displays on all the People pages. The People list includes all the people added to your system. Use the People list to:
- select an individual person record to work with
- add a new hire

People Info Bar
Powerpay People displays the People Info Bar at the top of every People page when a person is selected.

To be included in the system, a person must be added to the People list. New hires are added through the New Hire Wizard or the Onboarding Wizard based on your company's configuration.

The Profile tab includes a variety of data about the person selected in the People List:
- the basic information to about the person
- the person’s contact information. This information is added during the New Hire process and can be edited here at any time.
- the work assignment information specific to the person including the position and work. Information in this section is entered here.

The Compensation tab includes data relating to the compensation for the person selected in the People list, including pay and payroll information, taxation, entitlements, banking information and distribution and costing.

Use the Emergency Contacts tab to review, add, edit and delete emergency contact information for an employee.

Additional features
Enhance your Powerpay People experience with these additional features.
Note: Self Service is required to use these features.
To enable these features:

Click the Exchange icon
in the Powerpay toolbar.

Select Powerpay Products.

Select desired product.
-
Click Contact Us.

Complete the form and click Send.
A Dayforce representative will contact you.

A good onboarding experience is critical for successfully bringing a new hire into your team. The Onboarding features in Powerpay are designed to help you provide a smooth process for both you and your new employees and consists of four distinct actions:
- Onboarding setup - personalize the onboarding experience for your company and define the steps new hires will be required to complete in the Self Service Onboarding Wizard.
- Onboarding notifications - select the Powerpay user(s) to receive notifications when new hires make and save changes in the Self Service Onboarding Wizard.
- Powerpay Onboarding Wizard - add and create Self Service accounts for the new hires so they can complete the onboarding process in Self Service.
- Self Service Onboarding Wizard - guides new hires through the process of entering, confirming and upload various personal, tax and other relevant employment information. The wizard opens automatically the first time a new hire logs into Self Service.

Company Documents
The Company Documents feature allows you to securely upload, track, manage, approve, share and store electronic documents in one location including employee handbooks and company policies. You can select which employees, or groups of employees, receive the document. You can also enable alerts when documents need updating.
A virus scan is run on all documents during upload to ensure viruses are kept out of your system.

Employee Documents
Use the Employee Documents feature to upload documents specific to an employee such as, employee training certifications. It allows you to securely store all electronic documents related to the employee in one location and reduces paper. You can also enable alerts when documents need updating.

A time off request is a formal request from an employee to take time off. There can be many reasons for a time off request including vacation, personal time, bereavement, and jury duty. Powerpay’s time off request feature:
-
provides a standardized system for submitting and approving requests.
-
empowers your employees to manage their time off requests, anytime and anywhere using Powerpay Self Service on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
-
automatically notifies the employee via email of the status of their time off request.
-
streamlines your employees’ experience, allowing them to create requests, review balances, select reasons, add comments, and submit the request to their manager.
-
routes the request to the right person and reduces admin time by allowing managers and payroll administrators to rapidly review, approve or reject time off.
-
optionally updates your employee timesheets with the approved requests for payroll integration.
-
eliminates errors by automatically calculating time taken using the employee’s normal working days and hours, public holidays and automatically updating accruals.

allows you to:

customize time off policies such as negative accrual balances, unlimited balances, and carryover rules.

create customized entitlements such as vacation, volunteer days, and jury duty.

track time for employees without a permanent rate or salary by creating a custom entitlement not linked to a pay code. E.g. Commission employees

provides a centralized calendar with:

visibility to all approved, pending and denied requests.

a customizable holiday calendar, including special event days.

Note: Time off requests are only processed with Regular runs.
