Step 7. Logging Off

What is the Log Off screen for?

The Log Off screen allows you to properly exit the Powerpay application. Log off whenever you take a break from working with Powerpay.

Why do I have to do this?

Because Powerpay runs from within your browser, it's possible to "exit" the application without logging off. For example, you might click the Internet Browser Close Button at the top, right corner of your browser window or use your browser to check another favorite Internet site. If you do this, Powerpay will still be active. Anyone using your computer in the next 30 minutes could access your payroll information.

As well, if you do not use Powerpay but are logged in, after 28 minutes of inactivity, a Session Alert message will appear.

Session Alert

This message will remind you that your session will expire in two minutes. Click OK to continue the session. If no action is taken, the session will automatically expire and you will be taken to the Login screen to login again.
